This Week’s Announcements:
BELIEVE // PSALMS READING GUIDE FOR 2026
This year, we will be reading the book of Psalms together as a community! To help us meditate, focus, and pray together, the preaching team put together a study guide you can access at: http://www.revolutionannapolis.com/psalms.
We want to encourage everyone in our church to set a goal of studying five psalms each week. To help, we have prepared a few questions for reflection/discussion, as well as a brief prayer you can use to focus your time with God. The book of Psalms is an incredible resource for all Christians, as it does more than perhaps any other book in the Bible to show us a living example of how we communicate, both personally and corporately, with God. We genuinely believe that by spending a year engaging with these texts, our church community will emerge not only with a deeper faith, but also with a clearer understanding of what it means to be people of hope. Thank you for walking alongside us in this project!
BECOME // LIGHT HOUSE BISTRO
Join us at Light House Bistro during Annapolis Restaurant week from February 21 through March 1! Don't miss out on delicious $16.00 Two Course Breakfast and $18.00 Two Course Lunch. Proceeds go to benefit The Light House resource center, which works to house, train, and employ our neighbors struggling with housing and employment barriers. Check out their menu at www.lighthousebistro.org and make reservations for your group now!
BECOME// SOCIAL JUSTICE BOOK CLUB
On February 22, the social justice book club will be meeting at John and Deb Becker’s house after church to discuss the book, Welcoming the Stranger: Justice, Compassion & Truth in the Immigration Debate, by Jenny Yang and Matthew Sorens. This book club, led by Matt and Becky Murphy, meets on the 4th Sunday of each month to explore books that focus on thoughtful Christian engagement with social justice issues. Each gathering is a space for honest conversation, good questions, and learning from one another’s experiences and perspectives. All are welcome, whether you’ve been thinking about these issues for a while, or just beginning to wrestle with them. We are excited to learn and lean in together. If you’re interested, you can sign up HERE!
BELONG // MONTHLY WOMEN’S PRAYER LUNCH!
Following up from the great prayer theme at the Women's Retreat last fall (and in partnership with the Revolution Prayer Team), we would like to invite you to join other women from Revolution for a prayer lunch on the 4th Sunday of each month. We’ll be sharing highs, sharing lows, and praying for each other… all are welcome! Meetings will be after service at noon at Emily Heller's condo in Eastport Annapolis on Back Creek (if you need her address, she'll be sharing it in the Women's GroupMe chat… let us know if you want to be added!), or she can be reached at ehhel3986@gmail.com. Feel free to bring a lunch, and let Emily or Monique (monique.l.pfeifer@gmail.com) know if you have any questions. Our 1st meeting will be Feb 22nd. Hope to see you there!
BECOME// HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS: SOUP FOR THE HAVEN
Our friends at The Haven (led by our own Lindsey Wilkins!) are serving soup to our unhoused neighbors! Lindsey has created a sign up for soup, and all you need to do is 1) make some soup and 2) drop it off for serving. This program has been extended into February. Get in touch with Kenny or Lindsey for more details!
BELONG// MEN’S RETREAT
Our next men’s retreat is coming up soon… we will be returning again to West River Retreat Center in Edgewater, MD April 10-12 for a guys’ weekend away. The planning team is already hard at work, and they are putting together a genuinely fun and meaningful program for us: several men from our church community will be sharing their stories, we’ll be digging deeper into our faith, and there will be lots of downtime for games, conversations, and hopefully a firepit or two. You won’t want to miss it!
Date: April 10-12
Location: West River Camp (5100 Chalk Point Rd)
Theme: Strengthening the Base
Cost: $150 for 2 nights and 4 meals on-site; reduced prices available for day visitors. Do not let the cost stop you from coming! If you need assistance/support, please talk to Kenny (kenny@revolutionannapolis.com), and he will make sure you can be there!
You can sign up today HERE!
BELIEVE // PRAYER TEAM & PRAYER REQUESTS!
Are there any areas of your life where we can support you in prayer? Please let us know your prayer request HERE, and our Lay Leader Care Coordinator, Joe Pfeifer, will be in touch. These requests will be kept confidential within the prayer team.
BELIEVE // COFFEE, ANYONE?
Do you have questions? Doubts? Would you just like to talk through things with someone? Kenny is also always up for that, too! Just send him an email (kenny@revolutionannapolis.com) or text (803.727.8500).
BECOME // SUPPORTING REVOLUTION CHURCH
At Revolution, we believe that our church needs to be a witness to God’s bottomless love and an example of what it means to wrestle and grow with our faith together. Following Jesus isn’t easy! But even in our doubts, if we take the things we are struggling to believe and put them into practice together, we learn to ask better questions and live in ways that are more beneficial for others.
If you want to join us in this mission, you can be a part in a few different ways:
First, you can commit to presence: it is our sincere hope as a church that you find real purpose and meaning in being a part of our services and groups at Revolution. They exist for you! But have you ever thought about what you have to offer those gatherings in return? Your unique perspective, hopes, experiences, and struggles are part of the bigger story of our church. You have an important part to play here, and that part begins by making faithful presence a priority!
Second, you can commit to generosity: we want to imitate God’s generosity by looking for ways we can share what we have been given with others to bring hope, justice, and safety to our neighbors. One way you can practice that generosity is by supporting our ministry here at Revolution financially: we are a non-profit organization committed to maintaining a Christian ministry in Annapolis, forgiving the debts of our neighbors, and financially supporting both church plants and existing churches in our area. Your gifts help keep this commitment going! But we also want to make sure you know that giving is important no matter where you do it: find a non-profit, charity, or aid organization whose cause you support and make a plan to be faithful and generous towards them! God can do more with our resources than we can… and giving is one of the practical ways we put our trust in what He can do.
Third, you can commit to service: here at Revolution, we are in need of all sorts of volunteers to keep our ministry going. If you are available to help out on any of our Sunday morning teams, or with any of our groups or other outreach ministries during the week, we need you! This is a great way to contribute to the church… and to make new friends.
The city of Annapolis needs help, too! If you are able, make time in your week to participate in a routine act of service for our community. There are multiple food pantries we support, all of whom need help, as well as opportunities to work with kids in need of tutoring, care for unhoused residents in our city who need assistance, and serve as an advocate for a variety of justice-seeking non-profits working to make Annapolis a more equitable place to live. For help a place to serve, just talk with Kenny (kenny@revolutionannapolis.com) or our Community Engagement Lay Leader, Cathy Miller (cathygrowinghealthy@gmail.com).
