SCRIPTURE: Psalm 89

DISCUSSION/REFLECTION QUESTIONS:

  1. How often do you struggle with the idea that God contradicts Himself? That the Bible says one thing, and then something else? How do you find peace with these apparent contradictions?

  2. Can you think of a time when it seems like things did not work out the way you thought they would? Maybe, you even thought God was pointing you in a certain direction, and walking down this path has been a difficult journey?

  3. How can reminding ourselves of who Jesus is, and what He has done help us endure the storms of life? What can we do to remind ourselves more of Jesus when our minds are elsewhere?

  4. There are dragons and sea monsters and mythical creatures representing real life chaos in the Bible? What is up with that? How would looking more into this concept help you better understand the larger story of the Bible? Would you be willing to give the Bible Project series “Chaos Dragon” a shot to see if it helps you draw closer to God?
