REFLECTION/DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

  1. What’s your pick for Best Picture tonight? Can anything slow down Oppenheimer’s momentum?

  2. Okay, that was a silly question! More seriously: do you ever question God’s ability to really understand what it’s like to be a regular human being? Are there parts of your own experience you might doubt God’s ability to feel/see?

  3. In your opinion, what is so important about Jesus's role as both a communicator of God's message to us and a full participant in human experiences?

  4. How do you feel knowing that Jesus, as both God and human, understands your personal struggles and experiences?

  5. What challenges do you face in accepting God's love and closeness? Is it sometimes easier for you to imagine that God is “far away”? Why might that be?

Using John 19:30 ('It is finished') as a reference, discuss the idea that Jesus's crucifixion symbolizes the completion of his mission to bridge the gap between humanity and divinity.
